It’s all about the chairs this month what with Christmas fast approaching afterall we will spend more time than usual seated. It is my true belief that overall dining experience is won or lost by the comfort of the chairs – even Michelin star dining can be marred by an uncomfortable chair.
Available Space
Available Space must be considered when choosing dining chairs. If you have a dining space that is also a thoroughfare, then your chairs probably need to fit snugly under the table to give as much circulation space as possible. It’s good to note that carver chairs (Chairs with arms) require an additional six inches, so bear this in mind in limited spaces.
Style Over Comfort?
Whether your seated for a dinner party with friends or a family board game, you could be there for a while so comfort should be high up on your list. But should that mean you have to compromise style? The short answer is no. Whatever your style there are loads of options out there. However, if you have pets or young children a wipe clean option may be better.
Weight Lifting
One thing that we dont always think about is that chairs do need moving and hence weight must be a consideration especially if you are of advancing years. There is a considerable weight difference between different types of frame – Solid Oak tends to be heavier than a soft wood frame.
