January Blues?

So the festive season is over and all the decorations are now down… I don’t know about you, but I always feel the house looks so bare and usually take the opportunity to have a good clean round and reorganise the furniture.

Toys, toys and more toys!

Do you have room to play?

If you are not so fortunate to have a separate space for a play room then the 6-week summer holidays can hammer home how the younger members of the family can take over the house.

Mirror, Mirror on the Wall

2 Jun 2016 23:06:33

Does the mirror lie?

Well actually yes a mirror can lie, well at least tell fibs anyway - reflecting light, making a space look bigger, and generally opening up a room.

By shear reflection mirrors naturally bounce light from its source to another surface -This can be really useful if you have an elongated space that is darker at one end. Be aware though that a mirror will reflect what is sees so if it is placed opposite a dark painted or papered wall then that is what it will show in its reflection.

Is your Hallway just a walk through?

The hallway of our home (or to be traditional about it - the Entrance Hall) has over the decades diminished in size as space becomes more of a premium. In London there are so called flats that you could easily cram into a generous hallway – So prorata the average hallway has come down in size.

Spruce up the Spare room

21 Mar 2016 14:00:00

devon bedWhy should the spare room be spare?

The spare room is just that, its spare, so if you are like me sometimes it can (accidently of course) become the junk hole before we know it - The ironing board that never seems to get put away, clean laundry that just hasn’t quite made it away, kids toys you haven’t quite had the time to ebay yet etc etc.

Why should the spare room be spare?? Why not make the most of the space that you have:
